Last night I finished reading the novel WHERE WE COME FROM by Oscar Casares—a wonderful story of immigration and the universality of finding our way.
One of the writing groups I belong to has a regular exercise where we open a book to any random page, choose a sentence, and then take off from there. Here’s a sentence from WHERE WE COME FROM:
The doctors did all they could to try and save her.
Take that sentence—start with it, end with it, change it…but let it inspire 5-8 minutes of free writing. Ready? GO!
Best, Anna
